Aidan O’Brien of EDMO Ireland spoke as a panellist at the event “Understanding and Countering Disinformation from a Multilingual Perspective”.
As part of a project supported by the ADAPT centre, the initiative brought together experts in minority language disinformation operations and countermeasures across under‑researched European minority and low‑resource languages. The event was facilitated by Dr Iker Erdocia from DCU’s FuJo Institute and Dr Brendan Spillane from University College Dublin.
Funded under Research Ireland’s New Foundations Scheme, the project seeks to present an overview of current research across various disciplines, connecting linguists, media experts, computer scientists, policy makers and other stakeholders. The aim is to build interdisciplinary capacity to address the unique challenges posed by disinformation in linguistically diverse settings.
