Read about Newswhip’s content intelligence tools.

The University of Sheffield has developed the following tools to support factchecking and analysis:

Domain Analysis Plugin: An application that annotates URLs within a document, then assigns to each information on what multiple organisations who analyse the credibility of online content have said about the domain (or sometimes, domain path) in the URL.

Stance classifier: An application that classifies the stance of a reply to a rumour-introducing source tweet. The classifier is trained to adapt to the rumours and topics that are of interest to Irish citizens and stakeholders.

News Article Framing Classifier: A news article can address a story from a number of different perspectives or “frames”. This service is able to identify the main frames used in a particular article; it is a multilingual classifier capable of processing 104 languages, but it will perform the best on the six languages on which it was trained: English, French, German, Italian, Polish and Russian.

Irish Politics Monitor: This service is designed to enrich text with entities related to Anglo-Irish politics. The application builds on previous work which focused on UK politics but has been extended significantly.
