EDMO partner NewsWhip have offered free access to NewsWhip Spike to any journalists, academics or NGOs combating disinformation about the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Spike quantifies engagement with content and narratives on major social media platforms (Facebook, Reddit, Twitter, YouTube) and the open web to predict which stories are gaining traction and influence. NewsWhip CEO Paul Quigley explained: “We have strong coverage of social media and online media in central and Eastern Europe from ongoing work with NGOs and publishers there”

Access is offered as part of NewsWhip’s Data for Democracy initiative. Those interested in gaining access can email the data for democracy team at dfd@newswhip.com.
