EDMO Ireland has been invited to participate in the upcoming Digital Services Act (DSA) Election Roundtable on Wednesday, November 13, 2025. The roundtable, convened by Ireland’s Digital Services Coordinator (DSC), aims to assess the country’s readiness to address online threats to the electoral process.

The event will bring together a diverse group of stakeholders, including representatives from government, civil society, academia, and major online platforms. Discussions will focus on evaluating current measures and planning future strategies to mitigate risks such as disinformation, foreign interference, and cyber threats in the context of Ireland’s electoral integrity.

EDMO Ireland, as a hub of the European Digital Media Observatory, contributes through its work in fact-checking, media literacy, and policy analysis. Its participation in the roundtable underscores the importance of collaborative efforts in safeguarding democratic processes against digital threats.

EDMO Ireland will highlight work on the Code of Practice on Disinformation, political advertising, and the Be Election Smart media literacy campaign.
