The chapter, Disinformation about migration: an age-old issue with new tech dimensions, was written by FuJo researchers Eileen Culloty, Jane Suiter and Sara Creta, along with Itayi Viriri from the UN International Organisation on Migration (IOM).
The chapter examines the factors shaping disinformation about migration in terms of society, politics, media and technology. It outlines best practices in building public resilience to disinformation and the major insights from current research, with reference to major gaps in our understanding of disinformation and the current barriers to advancing this work.
It also highlights evidence and practical examples from around the world and from a variety of contexts and identifies recommendations and implications for policymakers and other stakeholders seeking to counteract disinformation generally and about migration specifically.

- Part I: key information on migration and migrants (including migration-related statistics); and
- Part II: balanced, evidence-based analysis of complex and emerging migration issues.
