The event takes place on Wednesday, 15 October in the Lab (Level 3) of the dlr LexIcon library. Register <a href=\"https:\/\/libraries.dlrcoco.ie\/events-and-news\/event-calendar\/spot-spin-workshop-misinformation-and-elections-dr-eileen-culloty\">here<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The workshop will explore how voters are targeted by spin, persuasion, and manipulation during election campaigns. Using real-world examples \u2014 from viral memes to misleading headlines \u2014 participants will learn how to spot common tactics, sharpen their critical thinking skills, and reflect on how to make more informed choices about the information they consume.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The session forms part of EDMO Ireland\u2019s ongoing media literacy work and coincides with the <strong>Be Election Smart<\/strong> campaign, first launched in 2024.
